ICI Develop

Keep developing as an instructor

Build stronger sessions, deepen your technical knowledge, improve your coaching and keep adding to what you can do as an instructor.

After qualification
Passing an instructor course gives you a starting point. It shouldn't be the end of your learning.

Indoor cycling instructors make decisions about exercise intensity, technique, programming, communication and the people in front of them every time they teach.

ICI Develop brings together continuing professional development for instructors who want to understand more and become more capable over time.

You don't need to take everything. Choose the areas that are useful to your work, fill gaps in your knowledge or take you towards the kind of instructor you want to become.

Professional recognition

CPD information where you need it

Some instructors need professional-development points or recognition for their registration. Where a course carries relevant recognition or CPD points, we'll show that clearly with the course information.

The subject and quality of the learning come first. Recognition information is there for people who need it.

Approved logo CIMSPA Relevant recognition and point information will be shown against eligible courses.
Approved logo NASM Applicable continuing-education information will be displayed where relevant.

Going further

Towards advanced instructor practice

In development

ICI is developing a more substantial advanced pathway for experienced, appropriately trained indoor cycling instructors who want to bring together higher-level knowledge and practice.

It won't be a replacement for entry-level instructor training, and it won't depend on instructors having access to one particular bike, software platform or technology.

Session design: building training around clear aims rather than assembling unrelated drills.
Coaching: making better decisions about how sessions are communicated and delivered.
Technical understanding: connecting training principles with what happens on the bike.
Professional judgement: applying knowledge appropriately across different riders, classes and settings.
